It took me 4 days and 20+ hours of detailing the wife's Escape (she should have never left me unsupervised), and here's the results. Forgive the rambling and occasion misspoken word.

 
Looks better than showroom fresh, awesome work!

Funny thing is, SEVERAL people, who know I'm into detailing and have seen my work have TOLD ME to start a You Tube channel. But I am VERY self-conscious and kind of camera shy, so that 6 minutes of recording and talking REALLY stretched my comfort zone. But I DID it! I contacted another You Tube detailer - that *I* have watched (he and his wife detail for a living, and also make a fairly large amount of content for You Tube). I asked him if he would 'critique' my the video (my FIRST where I actually speak). Not only did he look it over, he commented positively AND subscribed to "my" channel. THAT was humbling.

I told my wife several months ago that it was suggested I start a channel of my own on detailing. Her immediate response: "I'm not holding the camera LOL." So today, I looked up tripods for smart phones and found a cheap one on AMAZON for under $20, that will work with my Android. I am SERIOUSLY tempted ...
 
It looks great Don! I know what that paint code can look like and I’m confident that it looks even better in person.

Thanks, peer approval DOES mean a lot. I am ACTUALLY seriously thinking about running with the You Tube channel idea. I've named "my" channel: "Detailing Basics - Keeping it Simple." And I'm going to TRY to dispel a lot of the untruths and false info floating around out there that probably scares off a LOT of people from taking cosmetic care of their own cars (a daunting task, I know), but even if I only help a few, then that's fine by me.

*I've* noticed that MANY You Tubers use technical or 'trade' jargon that if I wasn't already a dedicated enthusiast that has done more than a little research, I wouldn't know what they are talking about. And some manufacturer's claims, using big "buzz" words" Ceramic, Graphene, Coating, Polymer Matrix - etc." just being some of the latest.

Most ALL of the 'non-car people' *I* talk to, STILL talk in terms of WAX, so you know all this technical stuff is blowing off the tops of their heads and pushing them away from the joys of DIY. I just want to my little part to change that.

I've decided that in my second video, that I'm already planning in my head, I'm going to refer to my 1st one (the one posted on here), as 'proof' of my ability and that (hopefully) people will realize that I DO (kind of) know what I'm talking about and be more apt to listen and believe that they CAN do it themselves. I INTEND to keep the vids 10 minutes or less, so I don't overload or fry any brains by throwing too much information at them all at once.
