I'm 66 and have arthritis everywhere. I'm still able to use Optimum detailer spray and the spray wax. I've got a c63 AMG with some help, 565hp. That aside, I've been looking for a way to wash the car on my own. I've got Optimum no rinse and have never used it. I was hoping for something I could spray on and just rinse off. I guess I'm dreaming. The local Ford place is a long time friend and they've been doing it and I wax it. The wife has a pressure washer and I thought I might use it with a lower pressure nozzle or with a foam gun of some type. I don't think I can use ONR with a pressure washer. But then I don't know.

Look into waterless washes. Exactly what you're looking for. There's a big section on the store. I like Ultima and Pinnacle. Also, I bet a local Detailer here would love to assist you, people here are really nice.
 
Have not use optimum, but eco touch is wipe with one towel, buff high spots with another

and you've had the mettle to hold off posting 'til now?

You're also deserving of:
"A tip-of-the-hat"...for such fortitude.

The kind fortitude that will assist you in overcoming any and all detailing-hurdles.
Why you've already come up with using the Wife's pressure washer idea!!

And coordinate that with, as mentioned earlier:
Waterless Washes...for an excellent alternative form of car washing.

As a 71 YO detailer with a good deal of arthritis, I have been forced to alter my detailing routine, with much anguish BTW. When my arthritis flairs up, I'm relegated to using a touchless wash and bring it home and do a UQD and UWQ to keep it shiny. I'm still able to give it a proper detailing but now it takes me a whole weekend and I pay for it for the rest of the week.

While I'm less than delighted that my golden years are turning into being mostly about pain management, LOL, I am able to mostly keep my vehicles shiny and protected in this manner. I also have been working with a young local detailer nearby to do the things I can no longer accomplish and do them to my standards.

I abused my joints for decades and literally wore them out. My message to young detailers... Go easy and take breaks. Listen to your body. Pain is your body's way of telling you to slow down or even stop doing that. The damage you do now will come back to haunt you later in life. Spend some time each day doing strength and flexibility exercises to reduce the wear on your joints. And no, detailing is not considered strength and agility exercise.
 
That's some good advice. I haven't been stretching at all lately and been sometimes detailing for 5 hours without eating all morning and my shoulder was giving me problems from now on I'm gonna take your advice. Thanks

If you decide to try this it seems that Target is unloading their supply of Eco Touch products and they are priced to go.

I grabbed two waterless wash and a quick wax for 2.50 each yesterday, perfect for a trial run.
 
A bit OT, but how many of us (those of the 'senior variety') have said, "If I knew I was gonna live this I'd have taken better care of myself"?

Then state, "Hell, I'd do it all again if given the chance."

Yea, getting' old bites the big one, but sure beats the alternative!

You might look into one of those garden pump sprayers from home improvement stores. Great for mixing up small batches of stuff and you just hold the handle down instead of multiple squirts from a trigger.
 
I dont know as far as cleaning, but as far as protecting you can ditch the spray waxes and try HydrO2.

CarPro Hydro2 Touchless Silica Sealant, spray on car wax

This is truly a spray on, hose off product. No wiping, no buffing, no touching. And, you can use this on the entire exterior of the car. People say with regular washing you will get 3 months of protection. It leaves a nice shiny and slick finish.
