I'm just a retired guy hanging out here. Driving a new Toy Avalon, first time in decades I've had a full size sedan. Looking for info on current products & techniques to keep the car interesting to look at. I'm off to the forums now.

Welcome, There is a great deal of knowledge and many wonderful members here. Good luck with the New Ride.

Welcome to AG! Feel free to ask question everyone here is very helpful and lots of knowledge from the regulars to the AG staff.

Welcome fellow old guy!

I think you'll find this forum provides you a great deal of information on how you can make sure your Avalon stays looking "interesting".

Thanks for the warm welcomes Finemess, Bobby, 300C, slick, dad & mdb. I've done lots of reading here in the past week, some enlightening & some confusing. But I can see there are lots of folks here who have similar goals for their cars/trucks, despite taking different paths to get there. Good to be here. Joe.

Detailing can be as easy or as complex as you make it. While our daily drivers receive some level of care and protection a show only car is a much different category.

Personally, I do it mostly for enjoyment taking care of my families but I do have several close friends that won't let anyone else but me work on their vehicles.

There is allot of reading here. Asking questions, experimenting, and hands on practice will yield much satisfaction and the results are literally amazing. Always start slow and work at a comfortable pace. :props:

You have picked a pretty friendly forum to start out with.Lots of good people and info here. Welcome from another old timer.

Welcome aboard from an old old guy to the new old guy. I have learned so much from these guys! Bobby G. is one of the best guys on this site. If you want a great line that is easy and affordable, I recommend Ultima and Duragloss. We have a rreview master, CE Dog aka Corey. His reviews are the best IMO, bar none. Also check out the Waterless and Rinseless Washes for in between washes. The DP products are Buy One get One Free until Friday. Order $95 and use Code AGO for free shipping!

Well thanks Flash, Bobby, 2old, Troy, Tiger and Mike. I'm starting to feel like one of the regulars already, after those welcomes.

I do have one question, it has to do with protocol & the way things are done here: there's an ongoing thread in which members give away or trade stuff they have - "car care products giveaways". I sent a PM to someone who was giving away something I've been curious about, saying I was interested in getting it, & that person said, essentially, 'welcome and take care'. That was the last I heard, over a week ago. Should I have offered to pay the postage or to pay some money for the item, or what? Thanks for your insights. Joe.

Can't help you with that, I haven't participated in the samples threads... we have a lot of great members on this forum... not sure what to say about the reply you received...

Feel free to PM me, maybe I can help...

:)
