Old Studebaker

We actually figured out that it wasn't the original paint. Turns out it had been painted at least once maybe twice by a low quality paint shop.

The guy is making it look great and will be finished this morning. Its costing me closer to $200 but im ok with that. I figure I am going to make some mistakes in this business and as long as I keep the damage small I will be ok.

Thanks for the input and advice, I will keep reading the forum and one day might attempt a job of this size but for now I will just wash cars.

If you can join a local car club, there is at least a chance they will have a tour of a detail shop that will demo some basics on restoring paint and/or removing scratches and oxidation safely. I learned some stuff from doing that.

Most of what I learned about compounding was from watching people (live, not a video) do it in an auto body shop.
 
What about Klasse AIO? It would remove the oxidation and with a lot less worry about installing my swirls
