Yes, I bought the OTC "As Seen On TV" Wipe New.

Sorry, I didn't document this step-by-step...but here is the before (the right mirror on my Honda Element):

And after (the left mirror on my E):

What did you do for prep? Is that old oily dressing on the door part of the RH mirror?

Wait til a few rains go by. I'm guessing it will look wiped old. Miracle "as seen on TV products" usually don't work (at least well for long). Remember the Sham Wow? You'd probably be better off drying your car with a Kleenex.

Even with all my skepticism, I still wanna try the Poop Trap:

No Poops & No Oops....

I've tried a few things beforehand to try and get the plastic on the door part clean, but never found anything to get it 100%. Today I went over it a few times with Mother's Heavy Duty Trim Cleaner, followed up by an IPA wipe down. I know it's not perfect.

I put some faith in a recent 10-week test by Consumer Reports of some popular trim restorer products; otherwise I would not have tried it. We (me) shall see.

I am more interested in the tape they used that withstood 100+ car washes.

Please, if you have a dog, do not do this to it, poor thing looks ashamed!

Great find Stephen! poor dog though, my dog would laugh at me if I tried that!

I was thinking the EXACT same thing. I bet that poor puppy dog held out until he just couldn't wait any longer before going. They probably had that thing strapped to him for over a day to get their "money shot".

Poor little feller...

I used wipe new on faded trims 2 months ago. They still look good. I don't know if it's the best product out there, but it works.

I passed by this at Kroger and instantly thought to come here for the low down. I have WG trim sealant. Didn't last too long. Second application didn't last at all. Prepped with alcohol wipe down.

Really? I've got some WETS on my exterior trim that I can't get to quit. Put it on in July and I've been waiting for it to fail so I can try out the DLux I bought on a good sale in August.

I think it's really good stuff. If the DLux isn't a breeze to apply and doesn't last a year, I'll go right back to WETS as the application is so simple. Might just use it on the rubber window trim as I've read DLux doesn't always look the best there.

Did you happen to have a different trim dressing on before the WETS application? Alcohol might work great for removing polishing oils, but I honestly don't think it'll cut thru a trim or tire dressing. You'll need an APC or even a tire cleaner to cut thru some of that silicone based stuff.

I have tried wipe new many times with great results. Did my wife's front bumper on her 01 windstar 18months ago and it is still going strong. I'm telling you people , you guys are missing out on a product that actually works. Hey look at that turtle wax tire coating , it's a hit.

Bought wipe new 18 months ago. If I remember correctly. It was a lengthy prep process. Still sitting there unopened.

I checked out their booth at SEMA, they had some demos the after treated area looked like it had been sprayed with polyurethane. It did not feel greasy or wet, it felt almost glassy if that makes sense. It was also very shiny and not natural looking.

I prefer WETS or UTTG, heck even a good protectant over it based on what I have seen.

I did use it on the bottom rubber trim on my wife's CR-V. I found that Wipe New lasts pretty long (I doubt 100+car washes long) but it help up well throughout the Summer.

I have had good luck with Black Wow and their cleaner Pre Wow. I used it on trim that was grayed and mottled, and the cleaner alone darkened it quite a bit. Then I applied the Black Wow and it looks great.
