This van took me a while to do plus just being a weekend detailer i am not as experienced as a lot of guys on here but i am learning a lot of tips and tricks. One thing is having the proper tools and equipment makes things easier. I was pretty satisfied with the results as was the customer.

I had one very similar this week. Minivans will wear out a man by the end of the day. Awesome job!

Thanks....yea i had to work on this one a little bit after work each day luckily they were on vacation so i had it all week.

They got it 1 year old and they have 4 kids under the age of 10 lol...but i dont think it was ever cleaned. It was the first vehicle i have had that dirty and i didnt know where to begin but it all came together in the end

That was disgusting, they should be embarrassed. I cant imagine asking someone to clean up my filth. Spot removal, leather treatment, paint polish sure makes sense that's what detailers do. But damn that was ridiculous, reminds me of a co-worker his car is like that I wont ride in it.

My experience? They're the entitled type that think it's the job of lesser people to clean up their mess. Usually utilizing the "I'm so busy" claim.

I tried to be nice one time and hire a housecleaning service to help my wife. She spent three days deep cleaning before they got there so they didn't think she didn't clean well enough. That one scored me negative brownie points I tell you.

Back on track though - OP - GREAT job!

Great job!

As someone who cleans out his wife's kid-mobile often, I can share in your misery. It's a lot of work.

:dblthumb2:

That interior is soul crushing.

These kind of jobs really make me wonder, I have never done one near that bad. I am not sure if they just get tired of looking at their own mess or maybe the smell gets to them. Or maybe they got shamed by another parent. But then again someone that drops off a car like that can't have any shame at all.

How much extra do you charge or do you charge by the hour ? I think it came out great and I applaud you for pushing through something like that.

Thanks for all the positive feedback and no i dont have an extractor but i have a shark steam mop with a detachable handheld steamer lol its not that great but worked wonders on that van. I also used some 3m all purpose scrub i got from menards for 2 dollars a bottle it took 3 bottles lol but the best 2 dollars i have spent. I now have a bissell little green pro heat that does well for me but would like a nice steamer or extractor eventually. Just hard to justify spending that kind of money when i only do maybe 10 to 15 cars a year.

hats off to you, great job!

btw, did you un-plug the battery first before removing the seats?
