One step polish methods

Well since were talking about chemical guys, does anyone think V36 would be a good polish for 1 steps?
would also like to know that, got some v 34 finishing polish recently and tried to work out some swirls with that but considering it was a finishing polish it didnt to a whole lot

V34 cuts more than v36 and v34 is not considered a finishing polish but rather a heavy polish. It is a polish/compound put together in a bottle IMO. Unless your dealing with some very serious defects v34 should have gotten rid of the swirls you were working on.

I've seen people talk about using doing "one steps" with XMT 360 or Duragloss 501, and of course, both of these leave behind some protection/wax.

I was suprised that DG 501 could correct as much as it did, but would prefer to not leave behind any protection so I could follow with a sealant.

What is a good "one step" polish that does not leave behind any protection. I guess it's not a "one step" then, but I'm still trying not to polish twice.

I don't understand though. You want light correction and you want to add a sealant and you don't want to polish twice. So why are you trying to separate the 'one step' to begin with?

Anyway, Griots one step sealant I've heard is a mix of their machine polish #4 which is ultra fine, you could use that then top with the sealant you wanted.

Is Mequires D151 called a differant name ? I can't seem to find it at the Autogeek store.
Thanks

I know you don't want an AIO. However, Poorboys w/ Sealant and XMT 360 Are good products. They offer some cut, sealant, and most importantly will clean the paint too, something that is important.

However I am sure you could use XMT Swirl Remover #1 for no protection as a polish....

Because I want to use a longer lasting sealant such as Opti-Seal after polishing, and my understanding is that a sealant will last longer if it's not applied on top of a wax.

Have you thought of using DG 501 and the follow with DG 105? That's, IMO, the most cost effective approach as both are great values and when mixed with 601 you can follow back to back, Correct with 501/601, seal with 105/601 and you are good for 3 or 4 months kept outside.

I use Menz 106 and 203 a lot, 106 is good one step polish you can follow right up with a sealant of choice. I do this on dark colors 106 and then BFWD, 203 sometimes does not finish down well enough for me so I follow that with 85RD if the car needs it.
Megs 205 is another like Menz 106 but with a tad more cut IMO.

Bottom line I have all those ready to go depending on the finish I need to tackle and the expectations, mine are always higher than the owners but I am only a part time guy so a little extra time is no sweat for me. If you're a production detailer I'd go with greatest cost effectiveness and least time so it's more profit for you.

Yeah, it's NOT a true "one step". I just meant I only want to polish ONCE. I would then, of course, seal it with something like opti-seal or even OCW.

On my own car, I ended up polishing it 3 times...which took forever. Now have a few cheap neighbors that want something really basic and aren't willing to pay much.

Why not use OPS or GPS since they play well with your choice of LSP (OS and or OCW) ?

Makes the most sense with your parameters, IMHO.
Sound like quick production detail with a little added bling is what you're describing.
