Only 6,000 miles... can't be too bad, right? 2011 Camaro Convertible SS w/ Custom Paint

Thank you!!

Clarity rocks!!!!! I don't go overboard with it though... I import all of my car photos with Clarity set to +20 and usually do not change it from that point. I love to use the clarity slider on dramatic looking skies like in the photo below... it wouldn't surprise me if I bumped it up to +100 on the sky to give it some added drama.

Yep, contrast between the factory or whatever in background and Audi is wow. There i like to play with Nick's HDR effex and Viveza 2, you might try them, it's great what they can achieve. I've tried lightroom 5 yesterday and it's so slow for everybody i can tell by reading some articles. I am back to 4.

that car turned out beautiful. I'm located just outside of Bloomington its nice to see something so close to home. I have just gotten into detailing and have been working on getting a nice product line to do some paint correction and other detail supplies.

Looks great Zach. Nice work. Now send me some love my way, lol.

Dude that's AMAZING!!
Thanks!

Amazing work Zach :dblthumb2::dblthumb2:
Thank you very much Pat!

Always nice to see someone local on here! Welcome to the madness, and please feel free to let me know if you have any questions or if you are ever going to be in the Peoria area!

Hey, nice to see you on here! Thanks for the kind words!

Great job. It looks better than new.
Thanks, the owner said the same thing!

Wow. You brought that Camaro back to life. Great work!

The wheels appeared to be swirled as well, however I later determined that it must just be a poor factory finish on the raw metal under the clear coat because I could not polish any of the defects out.

Yes, GM does this just to toy with us detailers.

WOW! Awesome job...were the stripes on the car vinyl or were they painted?

Unbelievable for only 6K miles, amazing results, write up and photos!
Beautiful color and great job. (Thanks for posting!!)

^It would bug the heck out of me... I would probably have them powder coated just to hide that finish... or I would remove the clear and polish out the metal... either way, it bugged me a lot.

Wet wet wet wet!
Nope... I dried it, I promise :p

At some point I'm going to have mine repainted, because GM (at least on mine) only paints the fronts, not the backs of the spokes or the barrels. So not only are the barrels etched to heck, the clear has started to fail on some of the spokes from the salt making its way in from the back. I don't know whether to talk to the wheel shop about polishing the fronts better before re-clearing, or just to close my eyes and hope for the best...

Tremendous car and the paint color is outstanding...great job on it. I also like the clean look of the engine bay.

Yeah, the barrels on these wheels were starting to show signs of corrosion, so it would lead me to believe they are not painted either.

Thanks! The engine bay was just as pretty as the car :dblthumb2:

I'm just getting into using FG400 and wanted to see how people were using the product, as it seems to be very powerful and still finish well. I've tried it with the CarPro denim and velvet pads, Megs MF pad, Megs polishing pad on rotary, an LC orange (not the HT) on rotary and am amazed with what it can achieve and how well it breaks down. I even used it with the velvet pads on my dark blue Suburban hood without following it with anything and you can barely even see the holograms in full sun.

What was cool about what you did was follow it with Menzerna 4500, as I was wondering how that combo would work. I've always wanted to be able to go straight to 4500 without having to clear up the compounding haze first, taking an extra couple hours to complete a vehicle.

Nice work!

One question I forgot- what speed do you use with 4500? How much pressure? How many passes? I tend to finish with a rotary, 4500 and an LC blue and have a process down with that, but want to be able to get similar results with the DA. Whenever I A-B my rotary results with anything I do on the DA with any product or pad, the rotary almost always wins so I go that route. On rare occasions, I use Sonax Perfect Finish with whatever pad works or Menzerna 4000 and maybe an LC crimson, but that's only if I can't finish hologram-free with the rotary.

Thanks!
