Greetings, fellow AG'ers!

Say, I got a question. I was gonna drive down to my wife's workplace and give her car a surprise detail, but it seems the weather suddenly took a turn for the worse. I already have pre-mixed ONR ( 2-gals water to 1 oz product ) and would like to know if I can save it for a later date....or is there a definite shelf life once it's been pre-mixed?

Solution is being kept in a tightly covered 5-gal bucket with gamma seal lid. Am planning on keeping solution in the house where temperature is cooler and more constant.

Any ideas?

:dunno:
BTW, I apologize if this thread has appeared elsewhere on this forum, but I did a search and cannot find one.

It's tough to say. Chris from Optimum has chimed in on threads about ONR clay lube losing its colour when made with tap water and said that while some of the polymers will bind the minerals in the water, there's still plenty polymers left so the lube is just fine to use.

The concentration of clay lube is higher than what is used for a rinseless wash however so letting one ounce of ONR sit in 2 gallons for an extended amount of time may not be a good thing. I guess it depends partly also on how hard your water is.

If you want to be ultra safe then don't use it. Or pour it into your wheel bucket and save it for that.

I always keep a pail of mixed up ONR ready to go. I think it's good for at least a week. If you have any reason to doubt, just add another ounce and you will have no issue.

Thanks for the helpful replies! Guess I'll need to order more ONR. My current bottle is almost used up. Like a fool I only ordered the small 8 oz, when the 32 oz made better sense. Oh well, live and learn.

It's not a time bomb or anything. Anything like that with water is eventually going to grow stuff, as long as it doesn't stink too bad and doesn't have too much film on the top it should be fine, IMO.
