I'm just curious of how ONR as a QD performs..i have asked this on a similar thread over at the "definitve thread", but have not gotten any responses. I am just interested in hearing about your experience with it as far as lengthening the durability and gloss of a cured wax or sealant is concerned. Any thoughts guys?

I am wondering this as well. I got two of the 8oz bottles on the BOGO and I am thinking about buying another. If it works good, I will have QD for a long time. It says 8oz to one gallon fo water makes a QD. That could mean 2 gallons of QD for $8.00.

So ya, if you have used the ONR as a QD let us know.

As a QD ONR works well, good cleaning power and looks fine but I prefer something like FK 425. I don't ever really QD the whole car with the intention of cleaning the paint, usually just a topper or drying aid. That said, I still love ONR as a clay lube, shampoo additive, and QD for cleaning door/trunk jambs and recently been trying it in my wiper blade fluid, great of course. Very versatile, a must have product IMO. :xyxthumbs:

On a side note I was going to stock up on Original ONR when I noticed the 8oz. on BOGO, 16oz. for $8.00 coming to $0.50 per oz. but the new formula is 32oz. for $16.00 = $0.50 per oz. as well! I was going to buy that much anyway plus I want to try the new stuff! :D

Cleans very well but lacks the gloss & slickness of OID or FK425 IMO. If my car is a little too dusty I will use ONR QD and follow up with OID or FK425.

ONR has a very neutral shine so it plays nicely with any wax or sealant. It can extend durability of existing protection, but I don't know by how much.

A dedicated QD will leave the paint much slicker and glossier.

So basicly, its good as a maintinence/cleaner... but if you that "pop" use a dedicated QD.

Well that works based on the price. I grabbed 4 of the old formula 8oz bottles. I just made a 64oz bottle of QD out of it and used it. I did notice it was not a thick as say meg's quick detailer.

I can just use it as a low cost maintence spray and keep a bottle or two of a higher quality for that extra shine when I want it.

I use ONR strictly for doing ONR washes.

IMO it lacks lubrication compared to a lot of other dedicated QD's.

Trying claying with ONR vs Meguiars Last Touch once and you'll see what I mean. :D

Thanks for sharing guys! There's just so many products new to me. lol.

I put up the Definitive Thread as a source of info, but I don't monitor it or field questions posted there so I'm sorry you didn't get a response. It's best to just start a new thread if you can't find your question in a search.

To answer your questions, ONR is very functional as a QD, but will not give the results of a dedicated QD product. Just like other all in one or multi-use products, they are a jack of all trades and master of none. To clarify, ONR is the "master" of it's primary function as a rinse less wash, but the secondary features are what I'm saying isn't top shelf performance. From my point of view, you should use it in QD capacity as a wax booster or to keep from having so many products around. If you are looking for a just detailed, high gloss QD and don't mind another bottle on the shelf, try OID or FK425.

Hope this helps,
Chris

That did help and cleared things up. Many thanks. I will try the FK425 on my next purchase.

As a QD junkie, I couldnt aggree more.OID and FK425 are the best I have tried. Well said Chris!

Love me some OID. Get the bigger bottle and dilute. Mkes it quite inexpensive and has a GREAT gloss.
