Is there any significant difference between ONR diluted at the QD ratio vs. a traditional QD like Meguiars Quik Detailer? I already have a bottle of Meguiars QD, but am wondering if it would be beneficial to mix up some ONR at the QD ratio. Would there be any uses where the ONR at QD ratio would be better than the Meguiars QD?

I have never made a direct comparison between these two. But since ONR is made to encapsulate dirt it may be a little more safe compared to Meguiar's QD.

Seems like you are new due to low post count, but this topic has been brought up many times, do a search. (this is not bashing you, just letting you know to search before)

but to answer your question, skip the "QD" function of ONR. Its great as a clay lube, best as no rinse wash, and pretty good for adding lubricity to an already mixed shampoo solution. QD has never been one of its strong points in my experience. As far as Megs vs ONR QD, Megs will win each time so stick with that. Megs QD was made specifically as a QD, the ONR was not.

I agree with rock. I used onr a few times for door jambs and clay lube. It is way more cost effective but I personally prefer megs for qd and clay. Just my opinion.

:iagree:ONR is a disappointment as a QD. It doesn't add any shine. UWW+ on the other hand makes a great QD/WW that leaves a slick shine.

ONR QD strength is great for a presoak before an ONR wash! If you want a good QD, that acts as a rinseless, waterless and QD, then get Ultima Waterless Wash concentrate. It is great at all those functions and with the concentrate you can make 5.5 gallons of QD/Waterless wash from the 16 oz concentrate bottle

+1 on that

I'll go a bit against the grain here. If you're looking for a cleaning QD, ONR is an effective and cost-efficient one. However, as has been mentioned, it doesn't really add much in terms of slickness and shine, so if that's what you're looking for, I'd choose a different product. That said, like a lot of the other posters, I also use UWW+ myself.

I use ONR diluted with distilled water, and haven't had a problem so far. I also have used Megs, and liked it.

Last weekend, I went to a parade about 150 miles away, it rained on the way, and the truck had a few bugs on it. I used the ONR-mixed QD, and it cleaned up well. But, the precious week, I used DP Polycoat and Max Wax on it, so it was 'fresh', not too much 'rain film' on it. I even got a compliment on how good the truck looked before I used the QD.

I would buy the Megs again, but I have plenty of ONR to mix. If nothing else, use the Megs on the car, and the ONR on the jambs and such, it's more cost effective.

I've used both ONR as well as DP's rinseless products as a QD and they've worked great, but then again I add about 1-2 oz's of Klasse sealant glaze to the gallon that I make up too. I read this little tip by someone on here a little while ago and since I've got some sitting around I decided to try it out. I use it quite often on my car and it always looks good to me. I like doing this because it makes my screen name make a little more sense as I haven't used Klasse on my car in quite some time since joining AG, LOL! (still a great product for sure!)
