ONRWW as a QD and clay lube

Awesome.

Follow up question.

In the future, since I don't think I should be polishing every time I wax/seal, I guess this means I should buy plain ONR to use as a clay lube if I decide to reapply wax 6 months down the road?
You'll mar the paint again amd should do a light polish afterwards, but if you don't care about the marring then yes, you can still use ONR as clay lube.

I thought polishing before every wax is bad for the clear coat?

I was reading that some guys here are only polishing like once every 1 or 2 years?

A fine polish (in the realm of sf4500) once a year isn't bad. I didn't notice you said every six months though so yeah disregard what I said.

If I were you I'd baggie test the car and use a nonabrasive paint cleaner. Otherwise, you could try claying with the Meguiar's OTC white clay, or poly ultra fine clay to minimize marring.

Hmm. I've got M205 for my fine polish. Still too harsh if I'm using a white pad?

I will be using my Nanoskin Fine Mitt for claying before every wax because I don't garage my car, and my parking lot is grass and sand. Plus with Illinois winters, I imagine there will be lots of contaminants. I'll definitely baggie test the car though.

How many spots do you need to test with a baggie to be confident that there's no contaminants? I clayed my car a little bit, and it barely pulled any contaminants (car is only 1 year old).

The Nanoskin stuff has always marred for me. M205 once a year isn't too bad, but I don't consider it a fine polish.

I test the whole car. Or at least every panel.

Yea, I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews on the nanoskin stuff, but it seems like you just have to liberally apply clay lube.

I suppose I'll pick up Menzerna SF4500 next time I wax my car. I'm just a little light on cash right now and can't afford some Menzerna right now.

You could pick up Ultimate Polish from Walmart. It has less cut than M205 and ia pretty damn cheap from Walmart or anywhere else.
