After finishing the SL65 AMG I detailed , the owner sent me one of his toys  His Opel Astra H 2L that made 380whp at our KAR dynoday. This is also the same Astra I restored headlights for in December 2013 for those of you who can remember. I saw the car at the dyno day and knew that this would be a tough task for me. The car was dirty and FULL of scratches. Full of scratches I mean every body panel had scratches , and deep ones too.

Owner asked me to block plates so most of the pics was taken with plates in mind aswell. So excuse me for that

Upon arrival this was the condition

I decided to start off with the interior. Vacuumed it all out. I then proceeded to clean the seats with APC mix , aswell as door jambs and all other areas ( Seat mounting points, doorcards etc ). After it all I vacuumed again and dressed the interior trims.

Excuse the run mark , just some APC left after I wiped the panel.

I cleaned up the engine bay using APC and various brushes ( only 1 pic with the afters ). I then decontaminated paint and clayed the whole car. Contamination on the car was bad , but the difference was immense. After that I cleaned the wheels using IronX followed by APC. Wheelarches was cleaned aswell. Unfortunately no pics of this except for the dirty claybar after claying the car , windows and wheels

Onto polishing the paint. Test spots confirmed that I would be using FG400 with cutting pads as my combo. Here is some 50:50 shots.

note. Look at the scratches on the bonnet. Unfortunately they were too deep for me to remove them

After passing the whole car with FG400 I moved to PF2500 on polishing pads to further remove the haze on the paint. After this I got out my fav  Menz PL on white finishing pads. Sit back and enjoy the after pics

We then pulled the car out as I begged to go for a spin in it  Here is a few more before we left.

What a nice turn around bud:dblthumb2:

Hopefully the owner uses its new found beauty as motivation to look after it a little better

Thanx guys. Looking back at the before pictures of this detail really puts a big smile on my face !!

380hp must be difficult to put down to the ground with fwd. I agree, the deep scratches are the only let down but besides that, it looks a million times better!

Great save, that car was hit! Love how its completely debadged, everything and NOONE has a clue how much power that thing has! Is that 380 whp?

Sent from my SPH-M930 using AG Online

Thank you guys. Yes its 380whp :xyxthumbs: 1st gear is low boost , 2nd is wheelspin and by 3rd it has enough speed to get traction. Not sure which turbo it has but it boosts LATE in the revs hence the reason it gets traction in 3rd

I was gonna say thats one hell of a manifold. I'm gonna guess GT30 or 35 series turbo (or equivalent). Regardless nice job on the detail!

Thanx bud. I did really enjoy the power on the car. It has an uprated clutch but after a few short runs it couldn't deliver the power anymore Im the MAN
