I recieved a call from a good friend of mine on wedensday to ask me if I could restore headlights for a friend of his. I agreed without seeing the lights as I knew I would be capable to do whatever comes my way. When I rocked up this morning and saw the lights I almost had a heartfailure. The car ( Opel Astra H ) had been standing for 3 years without any love  After a quote for new lights ( 16k ) the owner decided to let me have a go at them at the fraction of the cost.

I have never in my life spent this amount of time/effort to get the lights to look the way I want them to. Worth it ?? Well , you be the judge !!

Needless to say , the owner was overwhelmed by the outcome.

Very nice. What UV coating did you use?

Thank you guys !!

Well , I am using my own UV coating. Much like the Helsman Spar mixture on this forum , just with similar products available in our country. I am still testing it out , but thus far it has been 4 months with great results.

Thank you everyone :dblthumb2:

It took some real effort to get them back to former glory , but I think every minute spent on them was well worth it.

Thanx Lawrence !! Hopefully you will have similar results now that you have my recipe for the sealant. :props:

Looks great. Good Job. Some people said spar mixture fail quickly but others said it last two or years. Maybe do with high UV in some regions. South Africa high UV?
