Thanks, Bobby. Don't want anything harsh on the new WG sealant that I just put on!
Shouldn't do that huh?

I haven't used Duragloss Wash #901, however, I have used Optimum's car wash (which I add an once of Optimum No Rinse) and it works really great. Good cleaning ability and lots of suds etc, and leaves a nice reflective finish to the paint. Can't see using anything else.

dg #901 is all i use now thanks to the good reviews of it on AGO.

I have tried both.... I personally prefer Optimum much more.

Car washes are formulated to loosen or dissolve surface contaminates and float them from the finish. These washes are designed not to strip sealants and waxes when diluted according to direction...

Once most sealants have cured for 12 to 24 hours they can be washed without fear of removing them....providing of course you use car washes and use them according to directions...

There's only one chemical product line that touch my personal vehicles...Invisible Glass occasionally excepted.

What's the price per wash between the two? I'm having a hard time deciding which one I want to try out on my next order. Optimum's directions don't look very clear on their website. It says "one ounce is enough to wash your entire car".

It's a toss up for me honestly. I love both DG Car Wash and Optimum Car Wash. When I refer them to people I simply ask what scent - cherry or blueberry? The reason I ask is because some people hate the smell of cherry. Some others worth looking at:

- Chemical Guys Extreme Body Wash & Wax
- Adam's
- Griot's Car Wash
- Meguiar's Shampoo+
- Meguiar's Gold Class

I prefer Optimum Car Wash although they are both good. Both contain glossing agents, something I'm not totally thrilled about, but it is a little more obvious with 901/902. I find the scent of Optimum more pleasant.

On the label: 1 oz./gal.

I used 901 for a long time then I tried the above CG's wash and have never looked back, way better gloss and very easy rinse! Reasonable priced as well:dblthumb2:

Dosages....

Duragloss - 0.33 oz. per gallon
Optimum Car Wash - 1 oz. per gallon

Based on my calcs..... for a 4 gallon bucket/wash, Duragloss costs $0.25 per wash when you purchase the gallon-size (#902). Optimum is $0.94. You really cannot go wrong with either one. If you want the absolute lowest total cost of ownership, then #902 is the winner.

I've read on this forum that the 1oz/gallon is a misprint - it's supposed to be 0.5 oz/gallon. That's what I use it at, and it claims very well at that dilution.

I typically use Optimum Car Wash at 0.5 oz or less per gallon. 0.25 oz per gallon (1 oz. OCWC into 4 gallons of water) works fine for me if the vehicle isn't extremely dirty. I do, however, have fairly soft water.

Of the dozen or so car shampoos that I've used the only two that I've liked as well as Optimum Car Wash are Dodo Juice Born to be Mild (AG bring back the 500ml bottles!) and Lusso Auto Bathe. Duragloss 901/902 is good but it doesn't make my favorites list.

I think most of us Optimum wash fans use it at 0.5 oz per gallon or less.

In theory, what you lose is possible cleaning power (lubricity drop is not much) but it is a great cleaner even at the more diluted (than labeling) concentration.

I am still not sure why Optimum does not change the label.
