Hey guys.

I put Opti-Coat on my wife's new car and we absolutely LOVE it. The coating makes the car's paint look factory-fresh and it's so much easier to keep it looking like new.

But I just bought a new pickup and am wondering how Opti-Coat will work/perform on some aftermarket wheel well liners that I'm about to install. The liners are made of a hard black plastic material with absolutely no paint or clear coating at all. And since Opti is formulated to permanently bond to clear coat only, I'm not sure it would even be worth the time/effort/money to coat the wheel liners.

Will the Opti even 'stick' to the plastic?
Will it last on the surface for more than a few rain showers?

Thanks in advance.

Just for reference, I'm posting a couple of pics so that you can see the type of plastic material I'm dealing with.

IME it will bond with no issues to plastic, including your wells and lenses.

it should stick to hard non porous materials, however if it does not there is a product called c4 that is just like opti-coat but for plastic/rubber trim and all that jazz. or could just go with some trim sealant like ultima tire and trim guard, or wolfgang trim sealant, or something along those lines. i think the WGTS is on bogo right now also.

Opticoat should work well with that material by the looks of it.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Based on your encouragement and Chris's confidence, I will give it a go. It will be very interesting to see how well it lasts on the plastic compared to the paint.

I will say I'm quite happy with how it's holding up on my wife's alloy wheels. The water just dances off of them as if they're being repelled by a magnet. But it's only been two months and 1,000 miles, so.....

Keep us/me :) informed...I put those liners on my '08 P/U....Really like the way they "fill-up' the area...Really like to find a longer-lasting product. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I Opti-Coated and installed 'em tonight. They look niiiice, and should help immensely in terms of keeping the undercarriage cleaner. I will be very interested to see how long the Opti-Coat holds up and how well it performs in this demanding situation.
