Just picked up a black on black 2014 GLI and I am going to coat it this weekend. This will be the first time I have used a coating; I noticed the directions say it can be used on plastic trim. Is this accurate? Is this for textured plastic trim?

Yep, it will go on anything, including textured trim. I recommend putting it on slightly thicker when applying to trim since the texture will cause it to 'soak' more of the product.

I've had good luck on plastic (all black, all pebble texture). I'm not sure it enhanced it but it has kept it looking new. They were all new vehicles but one has sat in the Arizona sun for 2 years with no appreciable change in hue. My experience has been that it would have started to fade by now so absent any other explanation, I'll credit the Opticoat.

You are most likely correct sir. Even a year of sun in Phoenix will cause considerable amounts of oxidation and graying to the trim and exterior rubbers of a car.

OC does little if anything to enhance plastic. I'd get DLux.

DLUX enhances trim even on a brand new vehicle like this one
