Ok i need to clear this up. I have done the wash, clay, polish and sealed with UPGP. Can i not apply opti coat on top of this. cause i almost did .

No you cannot. From my understanding. OC needs to be applied to naked paint. As in, no wax's or sealants of any sort.

You need to strip UPGP before opti-coating.

Definitely NOT! As stated above, you want to apply it to clean, completely stripped paint.

what how do i do that then. Can i just wait till i wash it and then apply the stuff

I am not familiar with UPGP. But what I would try doing is wash your car with some APC mixed in the wash solution. Or just use dawn dish washing soap. Spray the car off and then spray down the car with an all purpose cleaner(I use OPC as it is paint safe). And shoot a few squirts of water onto the panel to get it wet without rinsing off the APC, and then wash it again rubbing the APC all over with the wash mit. Dry off and do an IPA wipe down and then apply.

It may seem like over kill. But I had issues with OC not adhearing to my roof because I didnt fully remove the polishing oils from m205. So its better to go overboard than having to re-apply twice.

well i want to get the protection , but also want to wet look

I don't think opti-coat is going to "look" any better than UPGP. In fact, I think UPGP looks better. But, OC is still great in its own right for various other reasons including low-maintenance and not having to keep re-applying.

Anyway, don't expect OC to look way better or anything. Maybe the same at best.

And 'NO'...do not apply OC over top of a wax or sealant.
