I have a customer who really wants me to install OptiCoat on his Newer Audi. I have worked with these type of coatings in the past. And am pretty comfortable with properly polishing out any defects to start with, IPA to remove any fillers, SUN CHECK, SUN CHECK SUN CHECK!!! Then back inside to look over with my brinkman light too LOL, So I am now doing research on the Opticoat Pro product and am getting a bit confused. I see people talk about "Opticoat Pro" "Opticoat Plus" and "OptiCoat Pro - Plus. I see on the "Autogeek" website that you have "Opti-Coat Gloss Coat" that lasts 2 years.

My client was telling me that there is an "OptiCoat" product that lasts for 5 years, I also called and asked other detailers and one in my area warranties the Product for 7 years, he said it was called "OptiCoat Plus". If you can guide me through this jungle of terms with your wisdom I would greatly appreciate it, as I want to be as knowledgeable as I can for my prospective client. So is there an "OptiCoat" product that does last that long(5 years) ? And if so how do I get my hands on it? thank you in advance.

OptiCoat Pro and Plus are for authorized installers only, regular OptiCoat has been replaced by Opti Gloss Coat and is available to the public. The newest version of Gloss Coat is said to last up to 3 years, very easy to work with and doesn't come with a warranty from Optimum.

Optimum Gloss Coat is very good. Easy to apply and gives good protection. I did the Opti-Coat 2.0 about 4 years ago and was very impressed. Lasted long time and great beading. Since then I have used the Gloss Coat and very happy.

Opti Coat Pro is for authorized installers only and offers a 5 year warranty. Pro plus is an additional step after Pro has been applied within 30-60 minutes after pro has been installed. The 2 steps will add an additional layer of protection that bonds to the pro, offering additional shine and gloss and ups the warranty period to 7 years. Pro formulas provide even better protection than consumer version Gloss Coat which is an excellent product, but it's nothing close to the Pro Plus formulation. Gloss Coat is a great product, offers about 3 years of protection when applied correctly, and can be offered by you to your customer. If the customer insists on Pro or Pro plus unfortunately you would not be able to get access to those products without going through Optimum's authorization process. Hope that helps.
