A number of years ago I used Optimum Opti-coat on a very soft black paint. It was a life saver because the Optimum added a layer which was harder than the factory paint and I didn't have to chase after the small surface scratches. It became an almost full time job keeping the paint near perfect, and I was getting very close to the primer layer before being recommended to use this product. I noticed that the product is no longer available to a previous consumer such as me.
Is there anything out there that is as good as the original Opti-coat.
Thanks

Optimum Gloss Coat is the consumer grade coating of their line. I've been very happy with it, but have never tried the pro versions to compare.

If you are still dealing with soft paint, or paint with a minimal amount of clear coat remaining and you are planning to use a coating...

Check out Essence Xtreme Gloss Enhancer as a primer for your coating. Essence contains some fillers and SI02 which can help "strengthen" your paint in some respects before applying your ceramic coating.

Best used with a CarPro Gloss Pad using slow to medium speed and no pressure on soft paint. Great gloss and really enhances any coating. Check it out, might work for you!

As far as opti gloss I'm going to find out, I have never used a coating first time for everything.

Optimum Gloss Coat replaced the older version of Opti Coat 2.0 that I believe you are referring to. Although Optimum Gloss Coat is a Superb Consumer based coating and will do everything it claims it will, It does not compare to a Permanent Coating Like Opti Coat Pro or Opti Coat Pro Plus, 2 very different chemical make ups! The Permanent Coatings will require you to navigate to OptiCoat.com and locate a licensed installer in your area.
