I actually had my first threesome this weekend...3 cars however, not the other, LOL. I had 2 Kia's booked for a one step and Opti Guard when I got a panic call from the A7 owner that I OG'd back in April. Turns out his wife drove through fresh cement. So I had that project added to the weekend too. Aaagghh.
Anyway, I really like the look of these Optima's. They're very upscale looking and especially in this diamond white colour. Here is the car as it arrived...in pretty good shape. The owner, Corey, is very proud of his car and tries to keep it very clean.
I started with the wheels. I cleaned them using Tarminator first, then Zep Citrus.
The tires were cleaned with Zep Purple.
The wells and barrels cleaned with ZC.
Just my luck, it started to rain as I began to foam the car:
The car was foamed with a strong solution of DG 901 and Dawn. The car was then washed with the same solution. I then went over it with IronX paste but there was no purple colour change. The car was pulled inside wet and was clayed using the Elastofoam clay block.
The hood showed signs of being hand washed as it had some light scratches to it. Those were corrected with a yellow B/S pad and M105, followed by M205. I did a one step with a yellow B/S pad and D300 with my DA on 6. Then the whole car was done with a white B/S pad and the new DG Squeaky Clean Paint cleaner. I used my DA and set it at 5.5. I did about 1/3 of the car at a time with both steps while I let the cleaner haze up. Do not use a lot of it as it will be tougher to remove. Like most products, thin to win. I think it needs to be modified a bit to make it dry faster. I will wait to see what the feedback from others is too, but that's what I've noticed using it several times. I followed those 2 stages up with an ONR wash.
Check out the pad after finishing the car with the Squeaky clean cleaner:
Then the paint and glass and wheels were treated to OG, including the glass roof. It really made the white glow after using the cleaner on it. The exhaust tips were done with Colli metal wax. The trim was done with UTTG. Tires and wells were shot with DP gel from my air gun. Total time: 7.5 hours.
AFTER SHOTS:
