Used the new Opti Mitt with ONR today. I liked it! If you have tried the SH MITT , you have tried its first cousin. Sorry Mark, you would hate it! I have the SH MITTs and like them. Dr. G worked the Edge boys to get the optimum (pun intended) foam to work with ONR. Thanks Corey for breaking this news a few months ago! Well the new foam is superb with ONR. Really glides over the paint and releases dirt in your bucket with a little agitation. Works as well as a plush MF or Chanille IMO. Rinses dirt after use. I never used an SH MITT with ONR. I have used an LC Garage sponge . Does the Opti Mitt work better than the LC? IMO, it does. As Mark pointed outt in his SH MITT review, you will lose a lot of wash media, unless you let it run off in the bucket. Will I use it? Yes, but only for ONR. It did a great job of marr free washing. BTW I wont use the yellow side. I have the black SH MITT for tires & wheel wells and the Pinnacle Bug & Tar brick for stubborn spots on paint. I would love for Corey to do a review, but he isnt an ONR addict like me.
 
I am glad you liked it. Mine arrived Thursday and I hope to try it out this weekend. I have been using the Lowes grout sponges and I am anxious to see how Optimitt compares.

I hope you like it as much as I do, I am an ONR junkie and do at least 2 between traditional 2 bucket method. BTW I dont use 2 buckets with ONR. IME it doesnt need 2, 1 will do.

Be sure to post results - I have Lowes grout sponges and just received Opti-mitt but haven't used it yet due to cold weather.
 
Great to hear your thoughts Jim! It looks just like the Schmitt but I noticed a big difference in water release. Check out my videos in that review. It takes some getting used to for me but on horizontal surfaces I think I got the hang of it. Most importantly the car was clean and no marring! I just have to work it out a little more to get the confidence with it. I agree with you, it seems to release dirt very easily.

Dont know how I missed your review, but I did.
 
The LC Garage Sponge may be better for vertical surfaces if losing wash media is a concern. I used an extra 1/2 gallon or so on the vertical panels.

Yes I do. It just glides over the paint so well and was eeasy to clean and hang for air drying. I used about a 1/2 gallon more ONR than usual due to not concerning myself with the vertical draining issue. I think I will still use chanille sponges for hard to reach areas and stubborn spots. Not sure if I will use a n MF again. If I do it will be a Shamrock. Good luck and have fun working on your wife's Bimmer this weekend,

Roped into hanging outdoor lights and never got to the car. I did get a couple of spray bottles. But I did forget one thing. Darn...

LOL Kurt, Mrs D let me out of hanging the lights today because it was too cold :)
 
I love the way it works...I don't like the quality...mine ripped after 3 washes (where the two foam pieces are glued together). I baby my stuff, so its not like I ran a lawn mower over it.

For $16, its definitely not worth the price, given the poor quality glue used in it. The SchMITT is a better buy at least.

I thought the mit slot was too small. I use it like a sponge but I put the cord over my hand and 4 fingers in the slot. Please send Optimum an email. Im sure they want to know and will make it right. Or call the AG Customer Service Goddess, Penny @ 800-869-3011 ext, 202!
I think the Gray foam on both sides would be better. I dont think any of us want to use a $16 mit on tires and wheels!
 
The problem is precisely what a previous poster said...the Mitt slot opening...is TOO SMALL (and I don't have large hands).

It needs a re-design in my view. I like the performance, the foam used, and it sheds dirt like crazy...all good things...BUT I think a few HOBBITS designed it.

I don't have small hands and it fits me just fine.
