opti seal & cqquartz inquiries on applying over a kind of cheaper/lesser known sealant...

hello all... i just had my black 99 trans am fully compounded & polished. it looks excellent - as good as from the showroom floor or better. now, i got a great deal due to the detailer being fairly new & younger (been detailing for about 18 mos. & only 21 yrs. old) ... car came out great, but for the sealant he applied renny doyle double black bead maker .... i'm sure this is fine for a month maybe 2? i just never hear anyone talking about it & it has no reviews here, even though i know renny is well known in the detailing industry even on here right!?. but as is, can i apply either opti seal or even cquartz ceramic over the renny doyle sealant he applied? i have no problem applying either & would actually like to. any input would be great thanks ahead. and as for maintenance, i have no problem applying an enhancing/assisting type product after every wash or 2 if there's on you guys recommend - 20-40 bucks a bottle of maintenance product is totally fine.

If your talking about Opti Seal (Sealant) and not the coating, it should play well with any sealant. Opti Coat or CQuartz coating should not be applied over an existing sealant. Surface needs to be super clean and free of any waxes or oils.

Doesn't the Renny Doyle line have a spray on sealant or a quick detailer?
 
yes opti-seal the sealant not the coating ... ok i will probably order some today. yes renny doyle has some sprays/qd's i just see no reviews of his stuff & it's on the rather cheap side? i know price isn't always a factor as even some more expensive stuff is just hype & marketing, it's just that it seems his stuff has no reviews or mentions when people are referring products on here.
 
I'm not familiar with the product or product line he used but if you're looking to apply a ceramic coating you'll want to be sure to lightly polish the entire surface to remove any other LSP and fully prep it for the coating.

Opti-Seal or other simliar products are just Wipe on Walk Away (WOWA) type sealants that will last you a handful of weeks. I like optiseal but use it mainly as a drying aid when I do. Helps keep the surface slick and works well but it's not a long lasting product.

If your looking for a spray on sealant that will last awhile..try Car Pro's Reload. I have a black car and love it.
 
would you recommend re-load over opti-seal? applying every 3 to 5 weeks is fine with me if necessary ... and should i use the re-load as an every 3-5 days qw too, or is there maybe a slightly cheaper product that is fine for a qw that i can use to dust/very light dirt clean the car (as i like to every 3 to 5 days often as a full wash is not necessary) ?

Reload over Opti Seal imo is overkill. Carpro makes a product called ECH20 that you can use as a waterless wash or a quick detailer. I put an ounce of Reload with ECH20 and kill 2 birds with one stone.
 
Opti-Seal is so simple and easy to use. It’s almost fun using it as a drying aid.

Ultima Paint Guard Plus is also nice.

I have not tried Reload.
 
Sorry you misunderstood me - I meant, do you recommend re-load over opti-seal, as in instead of/as a better product for what I'm wanting to use either for?
 
Reload looks better than optiseal imo. Reload is silica based and optiseal is a traditional polymer based sealant. They both last about the same depending on how they’re applied.

Reload imo has more gloss than Opti Seal.
 
Personally I cannot comment on reload.

However, I will say that Opti-Seal exceeds and satisfies me as a professional detailer (Geek Quality).
