Opti-Seal squeaking on paint?

I have recently bought Opti-Seal and used it yesterday. At first, the paint was very smooth, because it has a layer of 845 on from a month or two ago. Anyway, I applied it, and came back in half an hour after it was completely finished. I wanted to see how slick it was so I rubbed my fingers against the paint. The paint squeaked like it had nothing on it! I know that just because it's not slick doesn't mean it's not leaving any protection, but I was wondering if anyone else ever had this problem. Any help would be great!

The WOWA's don't really have that silky feel that a traditional LSP gives, IME.

My buddy uses that stuff and he's never mentioned anything like that to me, the only thing he says is how much the paint on his 2010 MS3 pops, its that lava red color w/ alot of metallic/pearl in it.

I wonder if it was completely dry, maybe it was "going through the process" still? How do you like the results? These products are so easy to use that I can't help myself from layering and layering it on, I'm addicted!

I think its the 845 i put on opti seal on my daughters car that had 845 on for 2 or more months and i felt the sticky also maybe they don't mix.

The Opti-Seal probably stripped off the 845, as Opti-Seal is a solvent based product.

Might not have finished cross-linking yet, perhaps?

Hmmm, my vote is also for not finished cross linking. Maybe it doesn't play well with 845?

I use UPGP and always apply to clean paint or over UPPP. I completely disagree about its "tactile feel" I think its the slickest product I've ever used.

Well, the OP is talking about OS, not UPGP. I find the Z-CS to be markedly less slick than the Z-5 or Z-2, the OS seems to be better but not as slick as traditional sealants, I have never used UPGP. YMMV.

It just squeaks, there's no other way to put it. Maybe I'll apply it on another vehicle of ours that doesn't have any protection on it and we'll see how it goes.

Yeah.... I saw that. My first sentence in my previous post was in regards to the OP and OS. Having not used OS a lot my next sentence was in response to your post which said WOWA don't have the same slick feeling.

I think if you applied it to clean paint you would get better results. A sealant needs to cure on paint not on top of another product.

from what i've heard is that opti seal will go underneath any wax.

Did you wipe it on or rub it in. OS was meant to just wipe on...if you worked it you may have removed the wax. It should feel smooth, but it will never feel as slick as wax...just because wax is wax.
