wow, what a lot of excitement over something that will be a non-issue and distant memory soon.
a sensitive group here, haha. THE WORLD IS ENDING. OPT IS KILLING THEMSELVES OMG I'M OUT!!!!!
life goes on guys. if you like the product, you'll be able to sell it and make a lot of profit. in my eyes, it's OPT doing two things: charging accordingly for their superior product and making sure their authorized dealer network actually cares about moving OPT product as opposed to using OPT as a vehicle to get customers in to mostly sell potentially inferior competitor products. even if the competitive product is necessary in the marketplace due to how certain cars react, that doesn't mean it's fair for someone to wave the OPT flag knowing they are only using that dealer network to do stuff other than install OPT pro coatings.
if you are doing good work and offering the product with the most robust durability, as a pro, you shouldn't have a problem moving some product for an appropriate price.
if you think another product is superior and/or you can make THAT much more money off of it while not short-changing your customers, then you'll sell that one. no need to trash OPT in the process. if you disagree with it and it's hurting your bottom line, contact OPT and give them feedback vs. bashing them on here. be productive!
for the consumers, i still don't see how $50-$60 for 10cc is outrageous, especially when it does what it says it does and carries durability expectations in line with the very best PRO competing coating's warranty (2 years, CQF)
Dr G. is a brilliant dude with the utmost integrity. he's not going to say gloss-coat is an improvement over 2.0 and it not be.
I'm thinking it's just a name change or something along those lines. I'm guessing this will be eerily close to Opti-coat 2.0.
Interesting business move on their part though. Hell of a way to boost sales.
it's very different. see my last line in the post above.
