Anybody use these to together? What were the results? I'm looking for a soap that can be used in both a bucket and perform well in the Gilmour foam gun. I've read here and autopia that the DP soap is pretty much the best with a foam gun. But can OP's soap give about the same results in a foam gun whilst saving me $$? Winter is approaching and I'd like to be able to foam the cars down and do a touchless wash every now and again. I also want a foam gun to help me clean my back porch walls, there getting very greasy/dirty from all the grilling I've been doing lately :D.

:( I'm using the search button now and finding some good info on soaps but I was more interested in Op's soap.

I used it with my karcher, with the foam function that is standard. And it worked great, so I think it will work good with a foam gun.

I know tom really likes optimum soap, he uses the AG foam gun, and has very high suds standards, so its probably pretty good.

Hopefully tom will chime in and thanks pirex for the positive feedback.

Optimum is my go to car wash soap. I've used it in a bucket, in a Gilmour foam gun, and in a Foam Cannon. It really foams well and I was happy with the amount of foam in all three types of uses.

thanks guys!! optimum soap is just awesome i just bought a gallon of it
it foams like crazy!! one of my favorite soaps!!! havent tryed it in the gun yet but will soon . im sure it will foam great!! ive never been let down by any optimum products!!!!

Awesome thats what I like to hear

Trying to get everything in one place (adding other items that only AG has 5.5 pads; pc carpet brush)

Pulled the trigger
:autowash:
Good decision. I buy this soap by the gallon. About 2 oz. in your foam gun will give you some pretty thick foam. I use about 1.5 oz. in my foam cannon and it's like shaving cream.

It works faily well with a foam gun, but not as good as DP Xtreme Foam, or Poorboy's SS&S.

I need to get me some Optimum soap later once I run outta Poorboy's :)
I actually like Poorboy's better than Optimum. I find Poorboy's slightly more slippery. However, Optimum is about 25% cheaper ($30/gallon vs. $40/gallon) and I don't think Poorboy's is 25% better.

One thing I do find about Optimum vs. Poorboy's is that Optimum's suds last longer than Poorboy's. This is a good thing when it comes to the foam gun/cannon as you want the foam to dwell.

Next go around I'll pick up DP's soap, right now with the 3 other items I ordered I wanted to keep the total under $120 and made it by a few cents under. For what I'm looking to do with the foam gun (prewash) Op soap should work according what others have said. Should also help me get a good clean engine bay and underside hood cleaning along with wheel wheels and a clean back porch (<-degreaser).

I think Optimum will be a winner for me!

i have to say after all the soaps i tested poor boys is one of the worst. no lubrucity at all. optimum is way way better.
