optimum finish polish tacky/hard to remove

Had the same problem as OP stated. Polished my black roof on my Mini to prepare for OC-2. Tried to finish with optimum finish polish but it was sticky/tacky and didn't wipe off that well. My polish separated as well. Bought it like half a year ago.

Definitely need to stop polishing while it's still a little wet. Speed six with pressure will cut down on you passes before it starts to dry up.

It was still wet. But the results were pretty darn good, I must say.

I also experienced the tacky/ grabby feeling og OFP. Used OP2 first then tried OFP with LC gold pad then switched to black pad. Tried misting pad with QD but still grabby, was afraid rotary was going to overheat. Someone said to " use enough product as barrier... .". Was already using a lot of product on the pad.

just got a brand new car. Clayed, opt finish, poli seal, then opti seal. still experienced grabby tacky feeling of opt finish. Used newly acquired hydrotech finishing pad and then tried a brand new microfiber pad, still grabby. i am really frustrated with opt finish

Any problem I've had from Optimum Finish Polish is when I used too much. It can be harder to wipe away if you use to much. I've never had pad hopping or similar, but I would try priming your pad with 2 sprays of a high quality QD.

If you use a little bit, it becomes extremely easy to wipe off. It's a SMAT polish, so you just need enough to lightly coat the pad and 3 dots. Also, Optimum polishes need to be shaken very well. Sometimes, if you see darker blue spots in the polish like here:

You may actually need to stir the polish with a rod. Just what I have found.

I primed the pad with FK QD but was still sticky. Shook the Finish too. Maybe did not shake it enough. Will try stirring it with a stick...
