When tackling aluminum, I prefer to pair optimum metal polish with the power of the Flex 3401... As you polish aluminum, the polish will turn black as it removes oxides that have built up in/on the aluminum!

Cool write up. What pads do you normally use when using the Flex? It looks like a wool pad. Do you have to follow that up with a foam pad? Thanks
 
what tools are you using to polish the intricacies of the wheels?

also, while it has protection built in...if i spent all that time polishing those intricate wheels, you can bet i'd be washing those things well with Power Clean and when they are all clean and dry, coating the heck out of them.
 
I use this stuff with a 3 inch wool pad on my pe8 or with foam polishing cones for my drill. Great product and nice review.

I prefer to use the Flex 3401 with pads mentioned above for the large surfaces along with the Meguiars Dyna Cone and lots of elbow grease! Around the spokes, I use cheap, short nap towels to work in, out, and thread in between.
 
I know a lot of metal polishers use rouge bars and buffing wheels. Have you messed with them at all?

Thanks Nick! Actually you were one of the guys that recommended it to me a couple years back! It has been my go to metal polish since!
