Optimum MF system almost here!

Any timeframe when distributors will receive these?

We hope to have our inventory by end of month (hopefully), and then we'll be taking orders from our distributors.

When do you expect the DA backing plates to be available?

Thanks,

Mark

The 5" is available, I have no idea on the 3" and 4". I have tried them with the Griot's 3" machine backing plate and they are fine and on the Cyclo backiing plate they are fine. Any other's you will need to try for yourself untill we have an offering. I will keep you updated.

The difference between the current offering Polishing/Finishing and the soon to be updated one is shown here:

I assume the updated ones would be the thinner one? I believe the thinner but denser backing side of the mfp, the more cut it is capable? .....

Id love to get my hands on the kit once it is available in the market... And hopefully its on sale too :)..... Since chris have tried the 3.5" on the GG3, then i assume its awesome on GG6.....

I think most of us are little kids at heart. I know I stare out the window if I know the UPS guy is supposed to show up.

I think that comes with age or maturity. There are some things you just don't have any control over, like your UPS person.

No, the thinner ones are what we're already selling and they will be closed out. See my first post with the descriptors on each photo.

I haven't tried the GG6 as I don't have one, but what I was referencing was not the maching, but that the pads work ok with the 3" backing plate on the GG3. I was making this statement because we don't offer a 3" backing plate specific to the DA yet.

Got it Tim and Chris, thanks for the clarification...

Are the cleaning instructions/recommendations similar to Meg's MFDA system? I assume the cleaner the MF the better/more consistent the performance. With the new type of MF on the cutting pads it seems you may need to be a little carefully using a brush clean on the fly. @Chris@OPT, what is your experience with cleaning the OPT MF pads thus far?
I too am glad the you guys @OPT keep R&D going on products even after they are released, nor have you released a product and within months released a new version. I can't stand manufacturers coming out with a product just to "keep up with the Joneses"; like Dodge/Ford have been known to do. Can't wait to get a full OPTMF kit!:D

no hurry here the weather is not good for detailing without a garage. besides good things come to those who wait.

Treat them like fabric: pretreat with spot remover if needed, then wash in the machine with detergent. No fabric softner and don't dry them in the dryer...let them air dry before storing.

For cleaning on the fly (between sections), use a foam pad conditioning brush, water dampened terry cloth or microfiber towel, and/or compressed air to clean spent polish and removed paint from the pad face.

Thanks Chris. Do you recommend a pretreatment like Grit Guard's PRS or Pinnacle's XMT polishing pad cleaner? Is OPC not recommended as it could cause the adhesive to break down? Thanks again.:)

Both of those are for foam. While they may work just fine, there's really no need for a special cleaner. The same stuff I use for my clothes is what I use for mine. Just wash on Warm/Warm with no fabric softener and let them air dry. We do not recommend Power Clean for spot cleaning or washing with.

I use the Pinnacle XMT Pad conditioner with the Megs MF pads....they seem to clean up easier than if I don't use it. Just a possible tip for when they finally come out...whenever that may be! :D

im gonna buy that 4 inch backing plate. it looks nice.
