I'm not too concerned with how slick-feeling clay-lube leaves a surface, as long as the surface is smooth after claybarring. ONR keeps the claybar from rubbing against and marring the paint too much, and allows the bar to lift up and grab most of the contaminants in the paint.
If I do claybar, I at least intend to polish the paint to get out the micro-marring the claybar may cause. This is why the slick-feeling left after claybarring would not matter.
