Hey guys i just got a gallon of onr to try out a few months ago and love the stuff. well i got tired of mixing a spray bottle at QD dilution so i went ahead and mixed 5 gallons of it so i can just pump more in a spray bottle when low. well today while cleaning up the trailer for next week i noticed the onr in the 5 gallon bucket is now clear (no longer blue) just wondering if the sun took the color out (being that its right next to the trailer door). And if its still usable. Anyone else have this happen

Corey,

The batch I mixed did the same thing but I didn't notice any degradation in its performance.

Mine went from a nice opaque blue solution to nearly clear... the spray bottle was a brand new one from Autogeek

same with mine. will be taking the benz out and giving her a nice wash in a bit. will see if i notice any dif in its performance.

I actually followed their dilution recommendation for making detail spray and even "it" became transparent.

I'm curious to hear what others have experienced....

is your mixture in the sun for any long periods of time bc the spray bottle that hangings in my trailer that dosent see much sun unless i take it out is still a nice opaque blue

No, not at all. I keep mine in a shed with the rest of my products.

I do agree that if left in direct sunlight it would certainly impact its clarity and color.

Sounds like a question for Chris over on the Optimum forum if he doesn't see it here first.

This is common when using regular tap/well water. It's the chemicals in the water. If you use distilled water you will notice that this does not happen. Previous discussion from forum members, you may have lost the color, but not the effectiveness of the product. It still works the way it was designed.

Well glad to see im not the only one this has happened too. well heading out to :autowash: . let u guys know if i notice any change in the performance of the product:xyxthumbs:

Mike,

Some great information!

Out in the boonies we have well water so the only chemicals in it is what's in the ground. I have some distilled water and will certainly give it a try! :props:

It's normal for mixed ONR to lose its color over time. It has no affect on the functional properties.

ONR will lose color over time when diluted. There is no degradation of performance but just a phenomenon noticed after storing diluted product.

The color disappears/fades because of the dye used but there is no effect of performance. Nobody remembers the first version of ONR that ended up turning brown?

Mine has been blue since i mixed it months ago. I heard that with tap water it will turn pink or clear. With distilled water it will stay blue.

:iagree: Same thing here.

Thanks for the fast replys.
Well like i said i took the car out yesterday for a nice cleaning and even tho the onr has lost its color it most def has not affected the performance in the product.Just another reason i use the optimum line:dblthumb2:
