Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine

Looks like rain for sunday let mother nature take off some salt then do a rinseless wash

What he said.
Thats what im going to do this weekend...the dd is filthy again
I switched over to a sponge because i feel the sponge has holes to hold bigger particles of dirt and it rinses and releases dirt alot easier than a mf towel does

Look up Garry dean wash method on YouTube. ONR with wax is best for maintenance washing...more shine than regular with exact same effort. You won't like rinse less washing the first time, because you will miss spots and will worry that it's not good enough. But, by the third time you will never want to do it the old way.

I've used ONR on my DD when the car was covered in salt last weekend
I didnt rinse the car prior to ONR due to the fact that i was washing the car parked outside.
I took some precautions of course:
1. Presoaked the panel i was washing with ONR from a spray bottle 8:1 ratio
2. Used Lowes Grout Sponge instead of an MF towel to wash
3. Grit Guards in both buckets
4. Changed out the solution in the buckets halfway through the process
So far I have not seen any scratches or marring, but the car is filthy again.

This is the method I use. I feel the Lowes Grout Sponge is much better than a microfiber towel when washing a salt covered car. The microfiber will hold all the dirt/salt but the grout sponge will release the dirt/salt very quickly when placed in the rinse bucket

I have used ONR at a couple of degrees above freezing to wash off salt. As previously mentioned, prespraying does make washing much easier

Been using the Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine (the blue one) all winter up here in Southern Ontario. We use salt and beet juice to keep the roads free from freezing and I don't know of anything harder to remove. I can't spray water in my garage as I have no drain. One time I tried and the garage door froze to the floor and I had to use heaters to break free. Anyway what I do on really cold days is park the car in the garage overnight with the electric heater set on high. This will give me 45-50 F surface temp. I pull it out of the garage and quick as I can soak with hose and sponge with ONR&S. Rinse again and pull back in garage. Wait for heat to return and then follow Optimum's recommended method of rinseless washing. One caution-the resulting ice rink may not impress all your neighbors.
