Optimum Opti-Coat Review - Update after 15 Months

Does opticoat make it harder to do paint correction in future?
If I apply opticoat, and then have to correct deep scratches (say door dings) - given that it is harder than any other OEM paint, wouldn't that make it tougher to correct paint in future?

Seech, I respect and value your opinion immensely. A true detailer and aficionado to heart.

The function of the coating is for protection. I think you would have to also consider that since the coat is harder that it is also more resistant to scratching.

That said, I have found that correcting swirls and minor scratches on the coating much easier.

I like the review, but it's not really fair to compare corrected and coated paint vs uncorrected and uncoated/unprotected paint :dunno:
Regardless glad to see its still holding up after so long

is it more scratch resistant than mercedes cermi-clear/corvette clear coat???

Corvette/ceramicler clear coats are not scratch resistant. They are quite a bit tougher to correct but they scratch/swirl up just the same. Not quite as fast as softer clear like honda but by no means scratch or swirl resistant. Also ceramiclear is similar to opti-coat, the ceramic qualities are only in the top 10 microns of the clear anyways. You compound that layer off no more ceramiclear.

Agreed.

Ask me how I know...:buffing:

I guess this means lack of brevity in my pm's.
I'm a fan of the Malaysian connection...sole distributors in their market. :props:
Top notch detailing hands and reviewers to boot.
