Optimum Spray Wax after weekly wash-overkill?

OS every few months for base sealant + weekly washes with ONR + alternate OCW and OID. Applying OCW to much, or too often, causes streaking. OID adds polymers and enhances gloss without this problem. You can always tell when OCW is needed, or is being applied in correct dosage, as it flashes off perfectly clear with minimum hassle just like OS does.

With the advent of waxes and sealants that are as easy to apply as washing your car, or detail spray, its only natural they are fast becoming abused....perhaps that's been the plan all along...cha ching....

I know, and it's crazy talk. I'm sure it was taken out of context (the context being unhappy customer on phone). If you could build up layers of AW, everyone here would be doing it, and we would have heard about this "cloudiness" a long time ago. Besides, I'm sure there are dozens of members who use it after every wash, which might be several times a week.

EDIT: These forums are great for disseminating knowledge, unfortunately (as in this case) they are also great for disseminating nonsense. If you don't wipe your AW clean, you're going to get a "cloudy" area of unbuffed product, I'm sure that was the implication, which is a little different than layering proper application until it's not "optically clear".

If this little tissy fit of yours is directed at me for what I wrote then maybe you should read what I wrote again. I did state it is what i heard and that it has never happened to me. Just making sure.

I have never used Opti seal but read that it looks rather sterile compared to a typical sealant. I found OCW looks great but attracts a lot of dust. Opti Coat sounds like the best thing out there for a daily driver but what will I do with all my waxes and sealants then? So far, only ONR gets used regularly from the Optimum line. Their compounds and polishes are great though.

My car is Opti Coated. I use Optimum Spray Wax about once a month. Is it necessary? (Idk but haven't seen any I'll effects to doing it that way and IMO it does add a bit of gloss)

I use UWW+ after every 2BM wash as a drying aid. I find it dusts less then other "drying aids" and helps dry beautifully by making the paint feel really slick as your drying with a towel, doing the tap dry method.

I am going to be going rinseless so we'll see with what I come up during those times.

I've thought about doing the same thing (OCW over OC Pro). How long do you find the effects of OCW lasting?

I've used spray waxes for years, don't worry about build up if your only applying it after every wash, in fact that's a good thing to maintain your finish.

Myself I use the Duragloss Aquawax 951 at least once a week without ANY issues.

After years of using OCW sporadically I finally bought a gallon to use as a topper. I plan to use it every two weeks or so.
