Question about application
Do you dry the car first or use it as drying aid?
If you dry first, can I use something like optimum detailer for drying aid before ocw? Or would that mess with the wax?
For those wondering how durable OCW is vs DG AW, Corey has a comparison of OCW with UQW, DG AW and Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax in his Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax review - he has updates up to two months (in further posts in the thread). Quick summary is, OCW does a lot better than the other three products that were tested.
As mentioned in the thread, it's almost unfair to compare Optimum's Wax with other spray waxes, because although it's application and use is identical to a spray wax, it's not a topper or gloss enhancer product, it's just "their wax".
I would never use a conventional spray wax as an LSP. But I would with Optimum.
For our instant Detailer you can use it as a drying aid, but the wax does need to be applied dry or almost dry. I frequently use it after my first drying pass when rinseless washing with ONR.
So is it okay to dry with OID then use OCW or should I look to dry/partially dry without the aid of something that could affect OCW.
Thanks,
Hmmm… Déjà vu, all over again.Just curious, any reason why Optimum has
not ventured into the Si02/Graphene spray
wax market? It seems other than their coatings,
they only have the one spray wax.
Wow.
Funny this old thread was revived. I just did an OSW application on the Ram yesterday afternoon.
(2 of the days of my 3 day weekend were raining, so it was all I could squeeze in).
I am still in love with OSW. Application is a breeze (it does not streak when applied as directed), smells good, and lasts a long time for a spray wax. (Up to 2 1/2 weeks IME).
Nice. How is the beading? lol
