Optimum Tire Protection Coating (TPC)

With your obsession, I find it hard to believe you wont go into touchy touchy mode
Everyone knows me so well, LOL. This product reminds me of the TW Endura tire coating minus the black dye, LOL. After I foamed down the tires and wheels with P&S Brake Buster, rinsed and dried the tires looked exactly the same, you can actually SEE the coating on there.

What do you and everyone else think about re-applicstion once a month just keep it strong

Klasse, I see no need for reapplication! Mine looks exactly like day 1. For me, adding every month would start to build up a ghetto gloss.

How often do you clean your tires and how? Also, how long has your coating held up so far?

I do my TW coats at the beginning of the season( spring for summer tires and fall for winter).

I might do another coat after 3 months, all depends.

Just coat em when they need it.

I am hoping this is the business because I am interested. I might pick up a 8oz to try.
Only thing for me, it would over TW with not to much effort in getting TW off the tire.

My sister bought some new wheels and Blizzaks for a Marquette,MI winter. I think I am going to put some Minwax Polycrylic on the insides to test.
Tw will be on the faces.

So you too have some old stock of the TW Endura tire coating

I'll be adding 2x's to my buddy Hectour's DD (Scion xB) and it will be the real test of tests as it gets washed maybe every 2 weeks, sits outside 24/7, so here we go. I'll post pics on Sunday when I go over there because he's changing my oil and I'm doing a deep clean/spray on, hose off coating and OPT tire coating application.

I apologize for the late reply.

I clean at least one a week. I have used a general APC diluted very weak and that worked fine. I typically just use my car wash solution of whatever shampoo I pick and a Mother’s wheel brush I have dedicated for tires. It has softer bristles and doesn’t scrub the coating off(if that’s possible).

Right now I’m on 4.5 months on one hvlp applied coating. Really looks like day one!!

To add, I have done maintenance washes on clients cars that I have applied it to and they cleaned up with just soap and water.... that’s 2 months without a proper cleaning. Still looked new.

Klasse...would you mind posting a pic of the tires? I'd like to see how they're looking as this has really peaked my curiosity on trying something new! Oh the rabbit hole is getting deeper$ and deeper$ and deeper$!

I will post a pic when I get to work this morning. After getting them clean I applied 2x's on July 27th. Since then I've driven in the rain once and washed the car probably 5x's.

Ok, this is after 12 days, I rain storm and 5 washes where I sprayed P&S Brake Buster on the tires and wheels (no agitation on the tires).

Well you could split the cost with another buddy because it's going to take a while to go through a quart. Honestly though I'm going to keep an eye on them and maybe re-apply once a month but only if I see it go down any but besides the front tires showing normal wear around the outer edges it's looking pretty good right now. Maybe tomorrow during the FNW I'll use my long brissel Mothers brush to give the tires a "light cleaning" just to see what happens. I know this, even if I re-apply monthly it's not going to need much to top it up as the base is still there

Ok, so this is only a day later but here I sprayed the tires with 303 tire and rubber cleaner, let dwell and simply wiped it off. I did get some dirt off but I wanted to show the pic nonetheless.

So I've got some fresh meat to enter thr fray with. These are the tires on my wife's ride, a ride that isn't washed on any kind of a regular basis, so the test is on!

The cleaning process was more complete here this time around. First I sprayed Griot's Garage foaming tire cleaner on the tire, let dwell and scrubbed with my short brissel tire brush. I then rinsed and repeated the process. Once I was done washing the car and the tires were dry I reached for the bottle of mineral spirits. After a single swipe I noticed some more "grit" that came off of the tire, so I did it twice and went around and did all 4, same result each time. At this point I felt they were clean, so I applied the OPT tire coating, rubbing it in real good and moving along. I then applied a 2nd coat as I always do and when I did the 1st coat was already dry, good sign

Stay "tuned" on this one everyone

Mineral spirits seem kind of harsh for the tires. I wonder if it would eventually damage the rubber.

Well, hopefully just doing an initial wipe to get a very clean base so I get 100% adhesion isn't going to hurt anything, right

Should be OK since you just wiped them off. Mineral spirits are pretty refined and thus dry quickly, negating much of the chance for it to soak in and do any harm. You wouldn't want to "marinate" anything rubber in mineral spirts though ... :)
