Optimum Wash and Wax as...

Hey guys, I may have made a mistake in my order but wanted to double check with you guys.

I order Optimum No Rinse Wash and Wax, I wanted to dilute it for clay lube, quick detailer and glass cleaner.

After reviewing products I am pretty sure I was supposed to order Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine to have the proper product.

Can you do this with either product or did I order the wrong bottle.

ONRWW for clay lube, wetsanding lube, and QD is just as good (if not better than) normal ONR for those purposes.

Although I don't no about using any ONR or even QD as a glass cleaner. Yes it technically can be used but I find all QDs on glass are hard to get streak free.

Definitely give it a try! I would say the best way to get it streak free is to take a thick, dry MF and slowly buff the glass!

I use at clay lube sometimes for glass cleaner. The QD dilution is a streaky mess in the sun but looks good in the shade.

If you really want a good glass cleaner just pick up some Meguiar’s Glass Cleaner Concentrate, 1 Gallon, dilutes to make an excellent auto glass cleaner. Meguiars Concentrated Car Glass Cleaner is great for

I like normal ONR 32:1 for cleaning glass. I assume ONRWW would be the same.

ONR and ONRWW are great for many things, but not as a dedicated glass cleaner. It sometimes is reluctant to dry without streaks and hazing.

Ever tried it? Works fantastic for me. Sometimes if I have REALLY grungy glass I will wipe it down with IPA first.

I was looking for Chris' 2012 post where he mentions adding alcohol to the ONR mixture at I think 3% or so. I used this method for a while but eventually went back to my go to window cleaner.

But I did find this 5 year old post from Chris, even though ONR has been revised since originally posted.

8. Can ONR be used to clean windows and interiors? Yes, ONR can be used for an interior and exterior glass cleaner. It can be used at the regular QD mix.....a bit stronger if you're doing nasty windows and a bit less if doing more regular upkeep type cars.

If you notice streaks and smears then you need to cut it back with water.

I try every time I wash with ONR or ORNWW. It's a hit and miss depending on weather. It does well washing dirty glass, but getting it spotless and haze free is tough. I'm talking about the haze you only see when the sun setting hits the rear glass at the perfect angle, and you see it looking at your rear view mirror.

There will be no negative reaction by adding ONR to a IPA/water solution. You can safely use a dilution of 2-8% which falls between our clay lube and quick detailer dilution recommendations. Let us know how it works for you as it may be a cheap alternative for some. I personally have used ONR at wash dilution (1:256) with IPA (1:32) to clean windows when the customer was a smoker with good results.

I don't have an answer to your question as I have enough OCW that I doubt that I'll ever purchase this V. ONRWW.

You can use onr or onrww and mix for lube, qd but id recommend using onr since its cheaper. I use onrww for winter use when weather is too cold to apply fresh wax. As for cleaning windows i use ONR as i wash my car, followed by optimum quick detailer (using a ratio of about 3.5-4:1) using a waffle weave (wiping once with one side and following up with the other side) and i dont have a problem with streaking or otherwise. I don't know who else plays with the dilution, but my QD is 1:10.
