Can someone help me out with lining these up by order of cutting power?

Orange LC Hybrid Pad
Orange LC CCS Pad
LC MF Pad

The orange Hybrid pad is the most aggressive

After that the other two are probably going to provide close to the same aggressiveness if used with the same liquids. The MF pad is softer than the orange CCS pad just to your sense of touch but because it's made p of individual fibers it does offer cutting action like an aggressive foam formula.

What are you working on?
What are you trying to do?

I really like the hybrid pads for rotary buffers and the Flex 3401...

I prefer hybrids because CCS traps product in its pockets resulting in wastage.

I'm working on correction for a black Sport Trac. Paint still has decent gloss to it and CC intact, but FILLED with spider webs and swirls from improper washing. Several RIDS also, but just looking to minimize rather than remove since it is a DD.

I've got a PC 7424XP and planning to start with Meg's UC. I was going to test spot with a LC Hybrid White first, but I have a feeling that I will need to go more aggressive. I just didn't know which of the three above would be the next logical step.

The LC MF cutting pad is way more aggressive than the LC Orange pad. The MF pad is also more aggressive than the Hybrid Orange. Simply put, the MF pad will be more aggressive than any foam pad.

I would say the microfiber pads have the ability to be more aggressive than foam cutting pads.

Keep in mind, you can finish out with MF pads, just look at the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System.

I'm not sure you would want to finish out with a foam cutting pad? :dunno:

How aggressive or how NON-aggressive they are depends upon the liquid you're using with them...

Be sure to mark your backing plate and watch for and maintain good pad rotation. The LC Hybrid-Pads are on the thick side and as the saying goes, when it comes to DA Polishers,

Thin is in...

Here's a quick video that show how and why to mark your backing plate to see and monitor pad rotation while doing any correction or polishing steps.

Go with the MF Pad with the UC, this is a pretty effective combo that finishes out pretty well on factory clear coats...

This is a very interesting for me as I'm in the same boat in regards to my 4Runner and a Tahoe, both black. My only difference is that I will be trying out Menzerna FG400 & SF4000 for the first time.

In this situation when you're trying to determine when to go more/less aggressive, how much does the amount of downward pressure you apply weight into it?

When I see aggressiveness, I think of the amount of *cut*. You're right, the MF pads have more ability to cut compared to the LC orange pad. MF pads can also finish very well for the amount of cut they can provide, as you stated.

:)

Along with marking the backing plate...DON'T FORGET the washer on the BP!
