Our "tools" are important.

You guys can slam me all you want for this post, and go ahead. But I've attempted to buy & wear Red Wing boots twice in my life. Once when I was 19, then again at age 38. Both times the boots were hard as a rock, and very uncomfortable on my feet (even after paying the extra $30 for the Red Wing "Comfort system cushions" on top of a $190 boot.)

Made In the USA or not, I'll never. buy those boots again. Period.

I also struggled with redwings at first as well, working at the railroad they give me an annual discount where they pay for half of the boots plus a supplier discount so i tried a few different pairs and found them uncomfortable as hell.

I tried several different type of redwings and now I found a type that I absolutely love. Unfortunately the ones i like are Chinese manufactured but they are the longest lasting most comfortable boot that i have ever worn. I also work construction with alot of demolition and these boots are some of the most durable boots i have ever owned

Shoes are a wear item. Like as in they wear out. We all hear the stories of people getting 4, 7 11 years out of x brand wearing them every day in mud sleet snow concrete etc. truth is stuff wears out. Foot beds wear out soles wear out. Sure the uppers may be ok but you are sacrificing the shock absorbing properties

That being said everyone's feet are so diffeeent. You may have to blow cash on many pairs of shoes till you find some acceptable. I figure 6 months for a pair if you are truly on your feet like concrete all day long. 40 - 50 hours a week x 50 weeks or so that's a lot of hours and ALOT of steps.

Some guys can wear pointy Cowboy boots all day everyday some red wings some flip flops some tennis shoes. It's such a range of individual foot comfort

1 $100 pair of shoes a year is like less than 10 bucks a month. No brainer

My favorite and comfortable will be Lugz don't know the exact model name, they last me about 8 years.

I wear redwing 8" king toe with 3.2mm sole insoles, works for me.

I use any Nike Sneaker and I coat it with Never Wet a few times. My feet are always nice and dry.

For Support I always rip out Nike foot pad and replace with Spenco insoles.

They make Dr. Schools feel like tissue paper. If you want to try on a few different version you can find them at Foot Locker, Dicks Sporting Goods or any other athletic shoe store.
