Over ceramic coating topper

I think any boosting ability is seen towards the end of a coating's life. I've used Carpro Elixr, ECH2O, Gyeon Cure and Ceramic Detailer, and now Armour Detail Amplify. On a fresh coating I could never tell any difference in water behavior before/after usage on a coating in good shape. When I was nearing a coating's natural lifespan I would see a little bit better behavior, but it was short lived.

Appearance is similar. After applying a most products I like to think it looks a touch better, but I don't know if that is confirmation bias, or whether there is actually any difference. I can say the Amplify and ECH20 are the two where I think there is a more noticeable difference. On a glassy coating they make the shine a little softer, deeper, and more wax-like.

Do you think toppers actually do anything, or is it more of a feel good thing? I've always wondered that. I use Ech20 on top of Can Coat. After airdrying I just do a final wipe down with Ech20. I also have Elixir on hand.

I just question whether a topper actually can extend the life of the base coating.

Depends on topper for me. But I don’t believe in “masking” my CqUk3 coated mustang never performed worse than the actual coating. Even with 3-1 (great protection $h!tty beads). Felt it performed a little better with Kamikaze or PACS.

Might also just my mind trying to justify price…

I bought this misting spray bottle that I use Ech20 in as a final light wipe down.

How good is it compared to Sonax BSD? Would you use A BSD on ceramic coated car?
I have an unopened bottle of BSD, and I'm really not sure if to use it on my ceramic coated car.

BSD is a brilliant product for this purpose, so is for much more !
