I bought my Flex about a month ago and absolutely love the thing. I also have a pre-order still open for the new PC and I'm wondering if I should get one in addition to my Flex. I've only used the Flex on my car so far but my initial feeling is the Flex is not the best tool for applying waxes sealers. This is why I was considering the PC...to use for waxes/sealants. I'm not a professional and mainly detail my 3 cars and friends cars. I don't mind owning two buffers if I can justify using both.

What do you guys think?

I have rotaries, a Flex and a PC. I have a 3 1/2" backing plate on my PC. I do use it with 4" pads to get in some tight areas.

While not necessary, some still use the PC for the Kevin Brown Method and others for the carpet brush attachments. No wrong choice ..

I prefer to apply waxes by hand, and I couldn't see buy a PC just for this. However, I only have a rotary and a PC, so I tend to use the PC to apply glazes and fine polishes (and maybe a final buff), but never LSPs. It's just too fussy and messy, not all that much quicker, and I like the final step of really getting to feel the paint with my hands. This step makes me feel as though I really have a solid connection with the condition of the paint...as if I really know it after that.

If I had a Flex, I may not use either of those other tools! I understand that it is the best of both worlds...nearly the power of a rotary with the control and precision of the PC. If you already have the better tool, I say put that money into some good product...or maybe the edge system or a pad washer or some dodo juice or some Wolfgang stuff or, or, or, or....

:iagree::whs: Thats the correct answer, using any machine to apply wax is a bit too wasteful for my taste, the pads soak up way too much product.

i have both, and never looked back to my pc after i got the flex

I Have 2 rotary's a Flex a PC and a UDM. My pc and Flex a setup for carpet duty and Tight spaces .I believe that multiple machines just make life that much easier. So If you can afford it and as going to have uses for it get it.

Can you do carpets with a Flex?

I find the PC invaluable in certain situations where my Cyclo is impractical. Do you need to buy one? That I cannot say but it does help me due to the lighter weight and smaller backing plates & pads available for use in certain areas.

But you LOVE my Flex since you hit my clients Mercedes Benz 1st. lol

I own two PCs, a Flex and a rotary and right now I use the Flex more often then the PCs or the Hitachi rotary. I like using the PC for the areas that are a bit harder to reach with 6in. pads that are on the Flex and the rotary I use mostly for cars that have need for more intence paint correction. I know, why 2 PCs?. I had bought one years ago and the other was given to me as a gift, but on the plus side one has a 5 oz. wgt and the other a 6 oz:D.

i don't even know where mine is, but it is good for carpet brushes if you don't hv a cyclo

you can use the PC for applying glazes, lsp's, cleaning carpets, having a back-up machine, teaching someone how to use it, etc..

Okay, do you guys have a link to show the PC OR Flex cleaning carpets? If so, please provide me a link!!! Feed back please

Thanks,

Stephen

Thanks for all the replies. You guys just confirmed what I already expected....once you have a Flex nothing else can compare. LOL! Seriously, I already had doubts about using any kind of electronic device to apply waxes/sealants. I'll just spend my $130 on more product. :^)

Hmmmm. What should I buy.....
