My car has a spot on it where the clear coat appears to be pealing or "flaking" off. I've spoken with two body shops who both said that the paint was oxidized and the panel would have to be repainted (taken down to the metal and painted back up and blended, etc).
One day, I buffed the car by hand with some Meguiar's products (Caranuba, I believe), and the "spot" was reduced in visibility. After a while, it came back, but I was not able to get it to go away with another application of product.
Wondering what happened the first time or what I might be able to do (if anything) to "cover up" the spot until I can get it repainted.
It is two spots on the trunk lid/spoiler. They are close together, and the larger of the two is a bit smaller than a dollar bill. I may be able to post pics later (at work right now).
