Hey guys, I have a white spot on my car and I have no idea what it is. Could anyone chime in and let me know how I can fix it?

It almost looks like a big water spot:

Up close, it looks like a bunch of water droplets:

Could anyone help? Thanks!

Looks like the clear coat was buffed through - slightly. I've seen a few spots like that. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Have you tried anything with it? Compounding or polishing? Waxing?

It may be a bunch of water spots, causing the clouding. Or a spot repair that is now failing.

I first noticed it when I was compounding out some hard water spots near that spot. Those spots are gone, but I didn't wanna touch the one in question until I was sure that compounding won't make it worse.

Anyone think I can go at it with Uber Compound safely?

Did you follow it with a polish initially? Maybe is marring. Hard to tell. It looks like strike through to me.

I agree, it looks like the whole area has been compounded too much. You say you hit all over except this area when you compounded?

Try some polish on an MF towel. Rub it and see what happens. If it's anything on the surface it will go away, if it's a punch thru you will see colour. Doesn't look like CC failure even if it is, there's no harm.

That's what it looks like to me too...

If you take a white polish and a white cloth and rub very gently on the lighter paint you'll probably see color or pigment coming off the car and onto your cloth.

This would confirm the clear layer of paint is missing.

Repaint it.

Correct.

At this point apply a wax, sealant or coating and try not to rub on it or around it too much.
