I have a client scheduled with a 2004 Audi A4. His biggest eye sore is the chrome looking window trim around the windows. Naturally, I told him I can take care of it without any hesitation. Anyone have any experience bringing the shine back to trim on Audi's? I have about 2 weeks to pick up anything I would need to perform the job.

I have a VW Passat and it has a small spot on the trim around the window that looks kind of like that. I don't know if it's the same issue, but mine is oxidation under a clear coat of sorts. There is no real fixing mine unless I want to remove the clear.

I hope this issue is different

I believe those were clear anodized. From what Ive been told you have to strip and re-anodize them.

There isn't really anything you can do to fix that as a detailer. Polishing likely won't help. Plasti-Dip. Meh. Going to look like, well.... Plasti-Dip.

What can be don't is to remove the pieces and wrap them in Di-Noc. The stuff is incredibly durable and doesn't cost a lot. It's available in metallics and mattes and looks great if you take the time to do it correctly.

That is what I did to my roof rack rails and its holding up looking like day 1.
