p21s wheel cleaner for engine bay?

I'm sure it would work, but I think there are a lot cheaper options like a degreaser or APC

I think that would be an expensive way to clean your engine (using P21S).
Alternatively, I suggest getting Zep Heavy Duty Citrus Degreaser from Home Depot, diluting to your preference (based on the label), then using it under the hood.
If you prefer the Meguiars route, try All Purpose Cleaner (APC) Plus.

As the others have said, I'm sure that would work, however P21S makes a specific product for this kind of cleaning: P21S Total Auto Wash is German nobility in a spray bottle!
