Hi AG,
As spring is kicking off I have a few people interested in my services. I gave them very ballpark quotes but I'm thinking of keeping a flat rate for my base package.

Base package-$200-would include:
Interior:
-vac, aerosol shampoo
-all seam's and tight area's blown with compressor
-all plastic cleaned and dressed with "Meguiars Natural Shine"
-Leather treated with Griot's Leather Care"
-Glass, mirrors, shiny metal finish trim cleaned.

Exterior:
- Chemical Guys Citrus wash
-Clayed Surface
-Wheels Cleaned
-1 Step exterior + headlight buff using "Megs D151"
-Tire shine
-Polish Exhaust tip

Is this a good value for an educated customer? Is this a competitive package from an independent professional detailer?

I would have headlight repair as a separate upgrade. I see this go for $50.00 to $100.00 per pair.

Thanks for filling me in, Mike. I don't "repair" the headlights as much as I treat them as an extension of the paint. It takes 10 minutes on top of the detail to buff them and really brightens them up!

I strive to make a certain dollar figure per hour and price every detail differently. Paint correction price is determined by % correction results and the time it takes to produce those results.

4 Honda Civic - $300-350 for the service you've listed assuming it gets detailed annually.

Scott, I think my base package would model your "ultimate exterior" service. Can you explain to me what your "light polishing" is?

I focus on productized pricing aside from paint correction.

I can close more leads that way and make the entire process smoother for the customer and me.

So I'd say your prices are fine if you know your ideal hourly rate and you know you can complete it within a certain amount of numbers.

2-3 Passes with a polishing pad and an AIO. Takes me around an hour then I seal with Opti-Seal because it's polymers penetrate existing protection to bond to the paint.

I don't look for correction percentage or thoroughly inspect every panel. The light hazing and oxidation is removed from the surface and it's factory shine is restored (to 99% of the population). No one is going home after an AIO and inspecting their vehicle for defect removal.

If they are concerned with defects I point them into the paint corrections and go from there. It's pretty easy to sell a coating on top of a $500+ correction job sometime doubling the price of the detail for not much more work. :dblthumb2:

After the paint correction and coating, I educate them on proper washing, offer my maintenance program or offer them the supplies to do it themselves, which I sell and have in stock, so they can buy on the spot.
