Pad advice for someone just starting out.

For the 3401 the best pads are indeed the hybrids. IMO the 5 inch size is the way to go if you are starting out with the Flex if you are used to the 5.5 on the DA.

Wow I go away for a couple days and you guys throw up some more great info! My flex is on the way and I'll look into the hybrid pads when I need to replace the ones I get in the kit! Can someone send a link to the ccs backing plate system that I will need for the 5.5" pads?

Thanks! I received the flex yesterday with an orange and a blue pad. I also ordered an additional orange and blue pad but got the 5.5" version, can I use those as is or should I get that backing plate? I'll look into the hydro pads for my next purchase. Along with the megs polish I have half a bottle of Chemical Guys V36 polish, any idea how that fits in to things? Is it a good finishing polish or more for cutting? Do I even need it when I have the megs polishes? And finally, what the hell do I do with the polisher? No idea how to use it :).
