i just bout a HF DA polisher. ill be correcting a black honda civic (just about to the point of giving up and opti-coating) and a white pontiac g6. Several of my family and friends already want me to clean theirs like i clean mine but as of right now i didnt have a way to really correct paint.Ive read a bunch of threads but here are a few things i need help with

1) Cg gets alot of hate here but seems that hexlogic pads are gtg. im torn between these and the lc ccs pads. which are more user/novice friendly if any?

2)I will be working in my garage and i live in alabama/ the humidity get ridiculous in summer and its not A/c inside. I was going to go with the 105/205 combo but ppl say got a learning curve and doesnt work well i high humidity.Would UC/UP be the best choice or should i get optimum compund/polish? do i need the optimum glaze as well? Should i just man up and go with mezerna? If so which ones?

I not looking to make alot of money but if i can do some on the side it will help no doubt. I just need some user friendly effective pads and polishes. i have access to a junkyard/wrecker service and the owner told me to go get whatever i needed to help with technique. just have to pull parts myself like door, hoods whatever. thanks for your time

Meguiars micro fiber kit correction cream and finishing wax you will not be disappointed. Get the 5 inch kit..

Or Wolfgang Uber or the Twins, I use CCS pads and MF pads. If the cars aren't that bad off, just use CCS pads. I bust out the MF pads for scratches and scuffs that won't come out with the CCS pads.

I think im gonna go ahead with hexlogic pads. CG has the 3 pack kit with 16 oz of pad cleaner for $19 and change. Comes with orange, white and black. So that would be 6 pads and 32 oz of pad cleaner for 39.90. Now i need to find some compund and polish :)

Yeah orry i should have mentioned i already changed the backing plate out. Going to do grease mod as well :)

Anyone got advice between optimum compund/polishes or uc/up?? Like i said sometimes its gonna be hot and really humid in the garage but i will have a fan going. also do i need the optimum glaze?? Is that step necessary or just polish then top with a sealant?

I know of a top notch pro detailer in the Dallas area that uses Optimum polishes all the time with no problems. A glaze fills imperfections so if you've removed them with polishing you shouldn't have a need for a glaze.

You really need to have more like 10 pads--4 for compounding, 3-4 for polishing and 2 for finishing or LSP application. Flat pads will offer the most effective polishing.

I agree w/Ski2. No need for a glaze since it shouldn't be necessary since you are removing swirls and scratches. I like Opt Hyper Compound and polish but I've used Meg's UC and UP with good results, even on black paint.

Hope you post some pics!

I think you should be fine with the choice of hex logic pads and 105 and 205. There is a learning curve to every polish compound etc. good luck let us know how everything turns out

I was looking at menzerna line but its kinda confusing. Isnt menzerna the same as wolfgang? whats is the wolfgang duo??? ill probably wind up getting optimum compound/polish and uc/up too

When you use polish 2, all unneed to do is damp MF wipe down before opticoat correct??
