Pad Cleaning

I used the new OP with a wool polishing pad, had the same sticky problem. I diluted Meg's Hot wheel cleaner 5-1, worked great. I did it as a last resort though, so I dont know what the long term effects may be.

I have the pad cleaner from XMT but have not used it; I just placed an order for the Pinnacle soap that you can use to even wash chamois. (My husband uses them on his older cars.) I will let you guys know after I have tried them both using the Optimum line what happens. I will post some photos too.:)

The XMT pad cleaner is great, cleaned my pads some days ago, and they are as new again.

That is good because I dirtied my Schmitt with sling cleanup today, and it did not come out in the wash!:(

I use dishsoap and no ill effects here and seems to work fine on stains. I use regular Dawn.

Do not - clean foam pads or soak foam pads in dishwashing soap (Dawn) or laundry detergents. These detergents may compromise the adhesive that holds the Velcro™ (Hook & Loop) backing material. Soak pads in a car wash shampoo or a specific pad cleaner (Snappy Clean Pad Cleaning Powder – http//:www.autogeek.com)

[each one / teach one, then student /becomes teacher]

i use the wolfgang pad cleaner, and it works great, just let them soak for a few minutes and i can just squeeze any polish or wax out by hand. but i still want to know how far everyone gets without having to clean/switch pads
