Pad question: X Pattern or Circle/prime the pad?

Mike,

for the swirl scratch & polish using a DA with Wolfgang videos you put the product on the pad using an X pattern, and you don't use your fingers to wipe it into the pad. You spread it while on the car.

On the videos for pinnacle advanced swirl remover and polish, you place the product on the pad in a circle and prime the pad with your fingers then use the DA to apply.

What method should I use? I plan on using my new PC 7424 w/ Pinnacle Advanced Swirl Remover for the first time this weekend. I've never used a DA machine before.

Do the kevin brown method where you turn the face of the pad to the color of the polish, so the second one you listed.

Yup. After its primed, add a few more pea sized drops of product then have at it.

I thought with Wolfgang products that is unnecessary, similar to using Menzerna compounds and polishes... FWIW I always prime fully with Meg's SMATs.
